Hi Tony-

Are you still active on WikiTree? I tried sending you a message/email back in February and left comments on profiles you manage (James Crawford (1770-1875), etc.), and haven't heard back from you. They're my direct ancestors, and I was hoping to get in touch about their profiles - specifically I think that James I linked to has an incorrect wife attached. Thanks!

I haven't heard back from you, so I'm going ahead and making some major edits to these profiles. If you see this at some point and see any problems with my edits, please feel free to reach out so we can resolve them.

Have you taken the Y-111 or Y-700 confirm or find more ancestors on your paternal line ? We are cousins.
posted by Jon Johnson Adopted
No, I do not believe I have taken a Y-111 or Y-700. However, I do have an ancestor DNA test along with my father's and paternal grandmother DNA test or ancestry.com.

Ok. Was wondering if you did take the Y-111 or Y-700 to confirm the Caudill branch of my maternal great grandfather, William Stone 1883-1981. Can even find more ancestors wih the test.

MY NAME IS STACEY PARKS, I'M SURE YOU SAW MY COMMENT, AS YOU FLAGGED IT, I COMPARED YOUR DNA KIT ON GEDMATCH TO MINE ALONG

WITH SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE PUTTING THEMSELVES FORWARD AS POSSIBLE DESCENDANTS ON THE FRANCES BALL CARTER WIKITREE PAGE,

AND YOU ARE NOT RELATED TO ME, NOR WERE ANY OF THE OTHER CANDIDATES THAT LISTED A GEDMATCH FILE #; THEY WERE 4 OR 5 INDIVIDUALS

THAT'S DNA IS ON ANCESTRY; SO I COULD NOT COMPARE THEM TONITE, BUT MY DNA WILL BE BACK ON ANCESTRY IN THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS;

AND I WILL FINISH THE DNA COMPARISONS; HOWEVER AS I STATED IN MY COMMENTS IF YOU CANNOT TRACE YOUR FAMILY BACK TO

BALL, CARTER, PENDLETON AND PENNINGTON AND RUSSELL COMING OUT OF GRAYSON COUNTY VIRGINIA, OR VIRGINIA EVEN THEN YOU

ARE NOT RELATED TO FRANCES BALL CARTER, OF THE FOLKS ALL LISTED WITH A GEDMATCH # ON THE WIKITREE PAGE, 7 WERE NO RELATION TO

ME, ONE KIT NUMBER IS NO LONGER ON GEDMATCH, 4 OR 5 CONTRIBUTORS WERE ON ANCESTRY, AND CANNOT BE COMPARED YET, BUT IF YOU

REALLY DESCEND FROM BALL, CARTER, RUSSELL, PENDLETON, PENNINGTON COMING OUT OF VIRGINIA U SHOULD BE A DNA HIT; JACK

TEMPLETON ONE OF THE CONTRIBUTORS, I BELIEVE IS CORRECT, AS I HAVE TEMPLETON COUSINS ON FTDNA, AND HIS MOTHER WAS A PENDLETON,

SO UNLESS WIKITREE OR MISS GIVENS HAS SOMETHING AS PROOF, I EXPECT EVERYTHING TO BE UPDATED AND CORRECTED;

THANK YOU

Hi Tony, I saw the changes you made to Richard Cheek's profile, which prompted me to ask about him in the forum. Do you have a source/reasoning for adding the parents as you did? Please post it to the profile if you do. Otherwise, I"ll disconnect and create a profile for Unknown Cheek as a stand-in for the father.

Tony --

Thanks for the information on Krause-66's profile!

I'll take a look at that website a little later when I have time. It's nice to see that they've incorporated source documents. That seems so rare on family genealogy websites. :-)

Hi! The merge of Tarleton Woody (Woody-1188) and Talton Woodie (Woodie-6) has received default approval (you had approved the merge already). As I posted in my comment, I'm leaning toward Woody as the preferred spelling. Let me know if it's ok for me to complete the merge that way.

Thanks!

Hi,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful. Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies. If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free-Space Profiles. Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a Unresponsive Profile Managers for resolving those unfortunate situations. If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Shayne ~ WikiTree Mentor
