On November 29, 1798, Lot 19, St John's Island Colony became Lot 19, Prince Edward island Colony. When the colony joined Confederation on July 1, 1873, it was on condition that the Lots be abolished, although they are still in use informally today.
Modern locations in Lot 19 include the towns of Kensington and Sherbrooke, part of the city of Summerside, and various unincorporated communities such as Burlington, Clermont, Kelvin Grove, Kensington, Margate, New Annan, Norboro, Sherbrooke, Travellers Rest, Wilmot Valley
