Nancy was born at Windham Memorial Hospital in Willimantic CT. She grew up in Lebanon CT, attended Lebanon Elementary School, then Lyman Memorial until 9th grade. The family moved to Windham CT and school was changed to Windham High in Willimantic CT. She has been researching her Caswell roots from 7th grade as a school project. With the help of her grandmother, Blanch Burditt Caswell, she has traced her Caswell line back to the immigrant Thomas in 1634. The Burditt line back to it's immigrant Robert Burditt in the 1600's and found at least 5 connections to the Mayflower passengers. She is presently living in Clearfield County, PA with her husband William.

I'm new to WikiTree. I'm descendent from Robert Arnold Caswell (Kerswell) born abt 1690 - died abt 1724 possibly from Devonshire, England area. He immigrated to the Isles of Shoals ten miles off the coast of New Hampshire about 1710.
Wondering if you've found any Caswells from Isles of Shoals in your research?
Most Shoalers moved to coastal towns on the mainland of MA, NH & ME during the Revolutionary War or the War of 1812 at the insistence of the new US government or when the Cod fishing industry started to decline in the late 18th Century. Most of the remaining population of the Isles of Shoals sold their homes to hotel developers at the beginning of the Gilded Age in the 1870s. My Caswell line (William Caswell (1800-1882) moved to Rye, NH about 1820 to be able to own land and farm. I'm the fifth generation to have lived in Rye, NH. www.ryenhhistoricalsociety.org

I appreciate the additional information about Townsend Caswell and his wife Betsey Holden. I wish that there was more information about his father William and mother Priscilla Townsend, but records on them are relatively sparse. If you also have Casewell ancestors from Taunton, I suspect that we are distant cousins. Take care.
You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering.
Wow!!! You're the 742th Caswell to join Wikitree and add your family history! I'm sure your 'cousins' profiled here will benefit from you adding to Wikitree your insightful collaboration, sourced research and first-hand knowledge.
Have fun and ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.
If you need additional help, our Mentors Project is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to assist you with WikiTree-specific problems.
See you in the branches --
