Biography

Ongoing research: Possible proof of parentage with Robert and Jane, if you have Ancestry . com.[2] Kentucky source if you dont. [1]

NJ and NY. Someone has entered NJ as places but the records I have found state New York. Thomas Caskey was born to Robert Caskey and Jane Todd 1 Apr 1766 in Orange County, New York. [2] and married Lydia Hopkins on 19 December 1790 inMachackemeck (Deerpark), Suffolk, New York Ancestry record [3] From a Genealogy.com user.Following up on this. 4/22/2018 ""There seems to be a problem when it comes to ROBERT CASKEY AND JANE TODD. It seems that there may be two lines but what gets me is the fact that the names are the same. Something is wrong and would like to work with anyone who is interested in clearing this mess up. This is what I have (Abrief summary)

first there is the NJ line; Robert Carson Caskey b. 1747, d. 23 Mar 1800. M. Jane Todd b. 1756, d. 6 Nov 1826, d/o John and Sarah Todd. Children; Rebecca C. who m. John Ming Ann who m. Mathew Martin Margaret who m. William Morgan Elizabeth who m. Lawerence Lomerson Jane who m. Andrew Morgan & Caleb Valentine Robert Carson, JR who m. Mary Stephens Mary who m. Thomas Martin

This is the NY to KY line Robert (S.) Caskey SR, b. 1747, d. 12 Sep 1826 (This is Fact, he was murdered in KY have article to prove)m. Jane Todd. (Can not prove Jane's last name. According to Son, Thomas's Rev. deposition it claims his parents to be Robert and Jane Caskey and that he was raised in the state of NY, It is also said that Jane's last name was added about ten years ago and has not been proven to be "TODD" as of yet.) Children ( Fact: Census 1790-1840KY) Thomas who m. Lydia Hopkins Sampson John who m. Mary Davidson Robert, JR m. Susan? Allen Elizabeth m. Laurence Lomerson Dorothy who m. Jonothan Barkley (Possible others; Margaret who m. Samuel Hilts, and Mary)

These are some other facts for second Robert's Family; Tax list for Boubon Co.,1790 KY Robert and William no William in 1810. 1810 Robert is in Adair Co w/ son Robert & Joseph. 1830 for Adair Jane is there until 1830. 1840 Jane is in Morgan.

I understand that when migration took place into and out of Sussex, Nj there is and will be confusion. It is stated that people digarded boundries when it came to Orange Co., NY, Sussex Co., NJ & Pike Co., PA. This whole region is considered the MINISINK region.

My Robert apparently raised children in NY and then went to KY. I have found nothing linking him to NJ and would like to find out who this other Robert is that is being connected to NJ along with Jane Todd. as you can see from above there are two sets of children with very little similarities. I would appreciate any one's help. And although I do not have all the facts would like to clear this up as I know some of you would too."

I found on Ancestry a photo of a March 1961 article From the Licking Valley Courier that was a detailed genealogy of Thomas and Lydia Caskey and their children.

From what I've found in researching my Caskey line is that Thomas Caskey and Robert Carson Caskey were brothers, not father-son. Their parents were Robert and Jane Caskey (maiden name unknown).

Find-a-Grave.com for Robert Carson Caskey, Jr lists his siblings as John, Samuel, Joseph, Margaret, Peter, William, and Thomas. There is also a Caskey family website that states this as well: https://www.caskey-family.com/robert-caskey/

If anyone has a good source for Thomas's parents, please post it. Otherwise, I doubt this parentage. The father's profile info has inconsistent information, and the findagrave entry for the father does not mention Thomas as a son.
