Henry Patrick was born in 1864 or 1865. He appears to be a son of Howard Cash and Nancy Louise, whose last name is a matter of controversy; she is alternately reported as Louisa Adcock, ^[1] Nancy Slaffren,^[2] Slappen, ^[3] Nancy Slatton, ^[4] or Nancy Slatten ^[5] In 1900, his mother is reported as Nancy L. Cash, widowed, born Aug 1811 in South Carolina, with her parents also reported from South Carolina.^[6] She is confusingly reported as having born one child, with only one living, presumably the Henry P. she is living with. This implies that none of the previous children before Henry P. were borne by her. However, informant of the 1946 death certificate of John Cash, suspected brother of the man at this entry, reports Nancy Slatton as mother of the deceased. ^[7] Previous census for what appears to be the widow of Howard Cash, named Louisa, give 1820 or 1831 as her estimated birth year.

Henry P. married Malinda Hembree, 18 Oct 1886, in Carroll County, Georgia, ^{[8] [2]}

Suspected among their issue are: Alice E., John L., Mary M., Walter Lee, Ezekiel, William Homer, Media May, Dessie, Radius/Rader (male), Albert and Clentice (female) Cash.

1930 census shows two daughters-in-law and two granddaughters in the household.^[9]

He passed away 5 Dec 1951 and is buried in Stripling Chapel in Carrollton Georgia. ^{[2] [10]}

Conflict of evidence

Standard paper-trail genealogy leads to the Franklin County Georgia marriage of Miss Louisa Adcock to Howard Cash ^[12] as the most plausible mother of the man at this entry, but descendant Lee Herron notes the conflicting reports of the mother's surname in the admittedly much-later informant data supplied to Social Security and death certificates suggesting a surname like Slatton. Hence this profile is part of the Slaton surname study until this is resolved.
