Johanna Casey was born about 1850 in Co. Tipperary, Ireland to parents John Casey (c1820-18??) & Mary Moroney (c1825-18??) who may have been from Cork City, Co.Cork, Ireland.

Johanna Casey (Co. Tipperary, Ireland) married William Cornelius Williams (from Carlton) on the 3 Jul 1873 at St Marks Church, Fitzroy, Victoria.

After their marriage they lived in West Melbourne before moving to the Flower Hotel, 249 Drummond St, Carlton in the mid 1880's until the early 1890's

Sadly Johanna & William Cornelius would pass away a year apart in 1890 & 1891 in their early 40's both at the Flower Hotel.

After her husband's William Cornelius death in May 1891 Johanna's sister Mary Casey was the caretaker manager while his Probate was being finalised in 1891. On the 2 Dec 1891 Mary Casey took over the licence from the Administrator for the Flower Hotel until her death in 1893.
