Maria Cascio is born on 31 July 1908 and baptized on 10 August 1908. She is the daughter of Vito Cascio and Lucia Canzoneri. Her godfather is Antonino Triolo.[1]
Margin notes on her baptismal indicate she marries Vincenzo Guarino on 24 April 1930. This is confirmed in the matrimonial indices. Vincenzo is the son of Leoluca Guarino and Caterina lo Bello.[2] Vincenzo and Maria are fourth cousins.
Maria has a maternal uncle by marriage, Calogero Rao, who is active in the mafia in New York City from the 1910s-50s.
Her husband, Vincenzo, is named among the victims of ambushes during the Navarra-Leggio War in Corleone.[3]
