Giovanni di Castro is born and baptized 23 January 1791 in Corleone. He is the son of Gioachino di Castro and Ninfa Ferro, a married couple from Agrigento. His godparents are Andrea la Torre, husband of Angela, and Carmela di Castro, who is unmarried.[1]
Giovanni marries Rosalia Fasciana (based on their grandchildren's names, she is Rosaria) on 5 April 1826. His parents have died by this time.
Giovanni and Rosalia have at least three children together: Gioachino (1826), Calogero (1829), and Nicolo' (1835).
Gioachino is born in the 21st hour and baptized on 6 December 1826, named after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are Leoluca Catalinotto and Vincenza Piazza.
Calogero is born and baptized 9 July 1829. His godparents are Salvatore Terranova and Gaetana Pendino (Pennino), who are not married.
Nicolo' is born and baptized on 18 January 1835, named after his maternal grandfather. His godparents are Giuseppe Mannina and Francesca Vernagallo, who are not married.
Death of Giovanni
Giovanni dies at age 40 (he is 47)[1] on 5 January 1838. According to the record of his death, he is the son of the late Francesco Cascio and Francesca Girgentano. It's likely his parents' names were misremembered, because they were from another city.
Rosaria remarries on 17 June 1848, to Pasquale Baglio'.
Gioachino marries Gaetana Cappuleri on 26 January 1851.
Rosaria dies in the hospital, reportedly at age 30 (b. 1821) on 29 September 1851. She is survived by her second husband.
Calogero marries Ignazia Giordano on 1 February 1852.
Nicolo' marries Liboria Listi on 13 August 1854.
Gioachino is married to Gaetana Cappuleri. They have at least eleven children together. She survives him at his death in 1877.
The death record of Calogero names his parents, but does not mention his wife, so I do not know if she survives him. Calogero dies at 57 years of age (b. 1829) on 5 December 1886.
Nicolo' dies at age 67 (b. 1835) on 3 July 1902. Liboria survives him.[2]
