Thomas Carter MP is Notable.

Thomas was born about 1720. He was the eldest son of Thomas Carter and Mary Claxton.

He married Anna Maria Armytage, daughter of Sir Samuel Armytage Anne Griffith, on the 15th of September 1763 at Walcot St Swithin, Somerset, England. Only twelve days after his father's death.[1]

They had one daughter, Anna Maria, who was born about 1764.

He was M.P. for Old Leighlin.[2]

He passed away in 1765 at Rathnally House, Trim.[2] His will was probated in County Meath.[3]

Research Notes

Several sources suggest that Thomas had tuberculosis, and that his father had forbidden him to marry, fearing he would pass on the disease. This conjecture is believed to explain the reason he married upon his father's decease, and that he, himself, died so soon afterward.
