Biography

Based on the known birthdate of his brother Thomas Carter, Giles was born in about 1520.

Giles married Margaret, possibly the widow of William Rote of Alderton who died in 1542. ^[1]

He had at least three children:

Giles Carter of Badgeworth, Gloucestershire wrote a detailed will on 4 July 1585. ^[2] He made bequests to:

Giles also made charitable bequests to the poor of parishes that he was associated with or where he owned land. These included Badgeworth, Shurdington, Pirton, Cirencester, Down Hatherley, Upton, Stowe, Cheltenham and Tewkesbury. His will was probated on 29 Oct 1585.
