Biography

William Carron is Notable.

William Carron was a Australian botanist, and one of the three survivors of Edmund Kennedy's 1848 expedition.

William Carron was born in 1821, and baptised on 18 December 1821 at St Mary Magdalene, Pulham, Norfolk, England.^[1] He was the son of Charles Carron, a gardener, and Mary Noble.

He married Eliza Ellis at Westhall, Suffolk, on 26 February 1844,^[2] and in March they migrated to New South Wales via the ship Royal Saxon, arriving 26 June 1844.^[3]

Eliza died in 1861, aged 48.

He remarried to Jessie Pearson in Sydney, NSW, on 19 September 1867.^[4][5] They had two daughters together.

He passed away in 1876,^[6] and was interred in the Grafton Cemetery.^[7]
