Gracie Lynn Cargile was born on 31 Jan 1912 in Atlanta, Fulton, Georgia, United States, daughter of Charlie Fesser Cargile (1901–2001) and Ella Mae Wilburn (1901–1991).

In 1920, Gracie was living in household of Charlie Timmes (34) in Hog Mountain, Gwinnett, Georgia. ^[1]

In 1930, Gracie was living in household of John Brooks (22) at 5 Lakeview Avenue, Atlanta, DeKalb, Georgia, USA. ^[2]

Gracie (18) and Johnnie Bennett Brooks (22) were married on 1 Jan 1931 in Fulton. John was born on 27 Jun 1908 in Duplin, North Carolina, United States. He was the son of George Washington Brock and Georgia Ross. Their son was Dennis Lafayette Brooks (1935–2014).

Gracie passed away on 3 Dec 1939 in Fulton, aged 27. She was buried in College Park Cemetery, College Park, Fulton County, Georgia.^{[3] [4]}
