William Ambrose Capell was born in 1882 in Lal Lal, Victoria, Australia, the son of Mary Capell (nee Kennedy) and Thomas Mayo Capell.^[1]

He was a doctor.^[2]

He married Jane Theresa Kinsella on 26 April 1911 in Victoria.^[3][4] Their children were:^[2][5]

• Mary Capell (1913–?)
• Tom Capell

Jane died in 1944.^[2]

William died on 11 June 1952 in East Melbourne, aged 69.^[5][6]
