Hi George, The profile for Joan Strong has been flagged on the Suggestions Report: 104 Too old; her profile shows she was born in 1604 at Somerset England and died in 1939 at New South Wales Australia. Mix up on the gedcom import file. Could you please check her profile and make the corrections
I see that you added John Hill as the father of Elizabeth Strong. I am removing him. Her married name was Hill, not her last name at birth. If you have information to support that her last name should truly be Hill, would you please provide it?
Thank you.
Sharon
On the pre-1700 Quiz which you took recently, it is clearly defined in Q2 that 'An Ancestry.com Member Tree and similar user-generated family trees around the world, including WikiTree may be based on reliable sources and may help you find them. However, it is not in itself a sufficient source for a WikiTree profile. If it is the only source for a WikiTree profile it should be a priority to replace it or supplement it.'
You certified at that time that you understood the questions and answers. Some of the profiles that you have recently created via GEDCOM import need additional sources. Please review and add sources before creating more pre-1700 profiles.

You've been a member for about a week so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!
I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Click the green Tag on your profile page, you'll see others following the same things you are researching. The more Tags you add that include locations, periods of history or other genealogical interests, the more links to the community research options.
Please ask if you have any questions as I am always happy to help!

PS If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.
