His father Taylor Canady was aged 45 in 1900. He was born in Texas; his parents were born in Alabama. He had been married 16 years.

Candis Canady, his wife, was aged 48, born Jan 1852. She had been married 16 years. She was the mother of 11 children, 4 then living. She was b. Mississippi, as were her parents.

Stephen Canady, their son, was aged 18, born Sept 1881; born Texas as were his parents.

In 1910 Steven was married to Emma. His family was living in Justice Precinct 3, Houston County, Texas, where he was laboring in a sawmill. Steven was age 27, b. Texas. Emma was age 23, b. Texas. Their daughter Robie M. Kennedy was age 4, b. Texas. Their son Roy Kennedy was age 2, b. Texas. Their son Taylor Kennedy was age 3 months, b. Texas.^[2] Steven and Emma and their family were enumerated twice in the 1910 Census.^[3]

In 1920 Steven was age 38 and divorced. He was boarding in the city of Houston.^[4]
