Biography

The son of Arthur Camburn and Eva (Austin) Camburn, Clare Camburn was born in Macon Township, Michigan in 1888.^[1] In 1900, he and his parents lived with his paternal grandparents at their farm in Macon Township.^[2] By 1910, his father had established their own household in Macon Township.^[3]

Clare married Agatha (Barnes) Camburn, the daughter of Robert S. Barnes and Sarah Anne Galliers, both English immigrants, marrying in Adrian, Michigan on October 19,1911.^[4] and having two known children together.

Clare Camburn registered for the draft at the age of 28, registering in Macon Township on June 5, 1917.^[5] He stated that he lived on R.F.D. #3 in Tecumseh, Michigan and that he worked for his father, farming. Clare was described as a man of medium height and build, with brown hair and eyes. He did not enlist.

However, in 1920, Clare and Agatha lived with his parents at the farm in Macon Township, while Clare worked as an automobile repairman, working on his own account.^[6] In 1930, living with his family on his parents' farm, he worked as a music teacher.^[7]

His father passed away in 1937 and Clare became the head of the household in Macon Township, with his mother, his wife, and his two sons in the household.^[8] Clare worked as a music teacher and band leader for Tecumseh High School.^[9] By 1950, he worked as a teacher and band master for both the high school and the junior high school in Tecumseh.^[10][11]

Clare Camburn passed away around the age of 71^{[citation needed]} and is buried with his family at Macon Cemetery in Macon Township, Michigan.^[12]
