Frank Bayliss Caddy was born in Norwood, South Australia.[1] [2] He attended the St Peters Collegiate School, Adelaide, South Australia. [2] Frank Bayliss Caddy served in the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in World War 1 and attained the rank of Private. His enlistment date was 16 Dec 1914. His next of kin on enlistment was: Father, P C Caddy, Ladore, Westbury Street, St Peters, South Australia. When he enlisted, his address was Melbourne, Victoria His occupation when he enlisted was Clerk. After Frank left school he was employed in May 1911 with Bank of Australasia (now ANZ) and spent two years at Mount Barker branch before being promoted to their Melbourne office. His unit was: 7th Battalion, 3rd Reinforcement. His Regimental Number was: 1668. Died of wounds 20 August 1915, Lone Pine, Gallipoli. [2] He died on 20 Aug 1915.[3] He was buried at Pieta Military Cemetery (Plot A, Row IX, Grave 6), Malta. [2]

A portrait of him was unveiled in February 1916 at Mount Barker Young Men’s Club room with a large number of townspeople attending the ceremony, which was most impressive throughout and was said to be a striking tribute to the memory of the departed hero. [4]
