Notes
Note N3761Mrs Jeannettie B. Cole
Again the Angel of Death has visited a home and taken one who we all loved.
Jeannettie Butler Cole, daughter of William and Jane Butler, was born December 10, 1872--died April 14, 1944, age 71 years, four months, four days. She was married Jan. 2 1890 to Alongo (sic) Cole, who preceded her in death two years ago. To this union seven children were born, all of whom survive her; Mrs Eugenia Joyner of Bruceton, Clifford, Arvel, Ben and Leslie Cole of Buena Vista, Odell Cole of Memphis; and Bryon (sic) Cole of Milan.
She professed faith in Christ at an early age. Later united with Oak Grove Baptist Church and has led a true, christian, loyal life all these years since. As a child, she was obedient and helpful, she was a true and faithful wife; a kind and loving mother, patient with her children. To her neighbors, she was always friendly, helpful and generous. She believed it was more blessed to give than to receive. As a christian, she loved God's word, read the Bible, and attended church services as long as she was able. Mrs. Cole has shown her true christian character by her patience, kindness and love shown to her companion, during his years of suffering, though she was in ill health at the time, she was always there to help and comfort Mr. Cole when he needed her. During those years, she felt very close to God, knowing he would give her the strength and courage to carry on. Though she suffered much, she bore it with a smile, never complaining. Mrs. Cole's life was truly one of unselfishness in service to God and her family.
She will be greatly missed in her community, by her friends and neighbors, she was loved by all of them. Many of whom called her "Aunt Jennettie" because she was so dear to them.
She is survived by two brothers, Monroe and Aaron of Buena Vista, the last two members of this family of seventeen children. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Our loss is her eternal gain.
Card of Thanks
Please accept our thanks for the assistance given us during the recent illness and death of our mother. We are especially grateful for the untiring efforts of the attending physicians, the kind deeds done, and the sympathy shown by the Spanish Grove Community Club. The very beautiful flowers and expressions of sympathy from our neighbors and friends were appreciated and will be lasting memories.

↑ Source: #S97 Page: http://www.tngenweb.org/records/carroll/cemeteries/donahue/oakgrove.htm Oak Grove Cemetery is located at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Birdwell Road in southeastern Carroll County, Tennessee. Natchez Trace State Forest borders the cemetery on the north, east and south. The cemetery, which is well maintained, probably dates to the 1840s. Like many early-mid nineteenth century cemeteries still in use, fieldstone marking early burials have been removed. It is impossible to estimate the number of unmarked burials. A number of grave shaft depressions are visible, especially on the north end of the cemetery. David Donahue recorded Oak Grove Cemetery April 30, 2001 and checked it February 8, 2002.
