John Edward Bush was businessman, teacher, and politician. He co-founded the Mosaic Templars of America. He was a leader in the Republican Party.

John was born enslaved in Moscow, Tennessee around 1858.^[1]

In the 1880 census John (age 24), School Teacher, was the married son-in-law of Solomon Winfrey in Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas, United States.^[2]

In the 1900 census John (age 43) was the married head of household in Little Rock Ward 3, Pulaski, Arkansas.^[3]

In the 1910 census John (age 52), Land Receiver, was the married head of household in Little Rock Ward 3, Pulaski, Arkansas, United States.^[4]

John died on Dec 11, 1916 in Little Rock, Arkansas, ^[5][6]
