Descendant of PGM migrant Samuel Bullen.

Biography

Halsey Bullen, born in 1945, grandfather, sailor, gardener, traveler, music lover, clumsy typist, amateur genealogist. I'm descended from Samuel Bullen and many other Puritan Great Migrants. I've been trying to connect to all of them, with proper sourcing and reasoning. With the help of the WikiTree community, that effort is succeeding. And I hope to use WikiTree to help others connect to their PGM and other ancestors, and learn about their lives.

Hi Halsey!

Thanks for your contributions to Puritan Great Migration (PGM) project profiles.

Like all WikiTree projects we check in with team members periodically to find out about their continued interest in the project. Would you please respond by February 5, 2024, to let us know about your interest:

  1. Would you like to continue as a PGM project team member?;
  2. Do you have any suggestions for PGM Project priorities in the next year (optional)?;
  3. Do you have interest in taking a more active role within the PGM project, and if so, what you might be interested in doing (optional)?

Please respond to this comment on your profile, or if you'd like, send a private message to either Bobbie (Madison) Hall or S (Hill) Willson.

Thanks for all you do for PGM and WikiTree!

Regards,

HI, I am starting to get more convinced that my Pullen line actually might be Bullens. My 3x great grand parents, both Pullens are from Westchestor NY. I was having major roadblocks there for the last 13 years. I was investigating Susanna Pullen Hayden b.1615 possibly Braintree, Mass because we have numerous matches with her on Ancestry. And also a Simon Pullen married to Mary Tosh from block Island but little else to go on. but then I started to research Susanna on other sites who said she might be from the Bullen line and then went to several of the DNA pages for various older relatives whose pages I oversee and sure enough I hade numerous repeat Bullens especially for Samuel and Mary Morse. But I can't get very high on these centimorgan wise. I see your line goes to Wesrchestor which makes me very excited. Any thoughts on Pullens of Westchestor? MY 3x great grandmother was Permelia Pullen b1808 lived in Troy NY. Father or stepfather not sure was George Pullen from the book Reverend silas Journal

Hi Halsey!

Thanks for contributing to Puritan Great Migration profiles over the last six months. Every little bit helps, so please keep those edits coming!

Like all WikiTree projects we check in with team members twice per year and it's that time again. Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  1. If you'd like to continue as a PGM project team member
  2. If you're happy with the team you're on (Research and/or Profile Improvement) or if you'd like to make a change
  3. Optionally, what you like since the reboot back in May or what you think could be improved. This could be something about Discord, or Google Groups, or managed profile spreadsheets, or challenge participation or really anything. If you like everything the way it is, you can let me know that too :)

If you'd like to tell me about a particular project or family you're working on, I'd love to hear about that as well.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks!

Thank you for the family star! I haven’t logged in lately. Actually I heard that Honeywell was making ventilations and that’s what made me look at their site.

Morning , William son of Benjamin 1651 , grandson of Samuel Mills ,1619 is a distant cousins line . His name is Ed Deneka . His mom Shirley Mills Deneka and himself have done a lot of work researching over the last 40 years on the Mills family. He has found information on all the family not just his single line and works with several of us . He has researched in Vinalhaven , Maine as well as Dedham, Needham and Natick Mass .

My line comes down Joseph Sr son of Benjamin 1651 son Samuel, b.1619 to where it changes the surname from Mills to Miles with Solomon Mills Miles Jr , b. 1764 son of Solomon Mills Sr 1729 in Natick Mass. Boni Miles Bliss [email address removed]

Do you have any source that shows Mary Ash, daughter of John Ash and Mary Bartlett is the Mary that married Thomas Hoyt?

You also added children to John Ash born several years after his death?

Thank you Halsey for settling the wrinkles out with me. Apologies for my 'autocorrect' some times with your name!

Welcome to the Quakers Project! Please visit the project page and consider joining the Google discussion group.

It would be good to add the "quakers" tag to your list of followed tags in order to be alerted to G2G conversations on the topic. Thank you!

Hi Halsey:

Re: Thankful Holmes. I disconnected b/c there was also a Thankful Holmes b September 11 1690 in Woodstock daughter of James and Hannah/Joanna. There's also a marriage to a Samuel Mafcraft in 1719 to Thankful Holmes. So, looks like two Thankful Holmes, but wasn't sure I had enough information to be sure which was which.

I think it would be a good idea to create a separate profile for Cyprian Steven's of Plainfield, so his known biographical details can be recorded properly. If be does turn out to be a duplicate, there's no harm in merging the profiles.

There are two profiles for Sarah Metcalf, wife of Timothy Clark (Clarke), should they be merged?

I am descended from Silence Clark who married John Adams
