He was attending school, and had finished 2 years of high school; he had earned $50 in 4 weeks work in 1939.[1]

'VANATTA Vera M. Vanatta went to heaven on September 7, 2013. Vera and her husband managed Pizza Hut in Atlantic Beach for many years. She will be remembered as a very loving, kind, crafty, strong and caring wife, homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother. The crafts that she loved and made were shared with people throughout the country. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Conrad and Pauline Ide. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, William Robert Vanatta; children, Richard Paul Buckler (Sharon); Bonnie Vanatta Wood (George) and William Robert Vanatta, Jr.; three grandchildren, Jennifer Elizabeth Marner (Jeff); Randell John Buckler, and Anna Vanatta Young; five great grandchildren, Emily, Neela, Jillian, Kristen and Denton. She will be buried in Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville Beach, FL.'
