Biography

Maurice was the son of Noah Buckler and Mary Potter. He was born in Michigan[1] but by the time he was seven, his family had moved to Brainerd, Minnesota.[2][3]

When he was 17, his father's railroad job had taken the family to Morris, Minnesota, and Maurice was also working as a cook.[4]

His gravestone identifies him with the 2nd Mechanical Regiment.[9] Maurice married his second wife, Esther Sophie Blomquist in Crow Wing County on September 9, 1919. [10][11]

Maurice and his third wife Ella Hoefler were married in Crow Wing County on December 17, 1928.[12]In 1930, they were living in Ironton, where they owned their own home and had a 3 month old daughter. [13]In the 1931 City Directory for Ironton, Maurice was identified as working as a mechanic for I.W. Smith.[14]In 1940 had a 10 year old daughter Dorothy and seven year old son Wallace.[15]

In 1942, Maurice was employed at an Ironton garage.[16]In 1946, he was working at an Ironton filling station.[17]
