David Gordon Buchanan was born on the 29th of September, 1909, in Milton, Tokomairiro, Otago, New Zealand, the 3rd of 3 boys of Andrew Buchanan and Mamie Wood.[1]
At 37, on the 11th of September, 1947, he married Cecily Ann Collins at All Saints Church, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand, and they had 3 children.[citation needed]
At 69, on the 29th of August, 1979, a retired Journalist, resident of 8 Hart Street, Dunedin, he died in the Cherry Farm Hospital, Waikouaiti, Otago, and was cremated at Dunedin, his ashes buried in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand.[2]
The birth index is incorrect! "Tokomairi"'s spelling should be "Tokomairio" and it's in the province of Otago, not Canterbury, so it should read: "Registration Place Tokomairiro, Otago, New Zealand".
