Biography

Finn Bruun migrated from Norway to United States.

Finn Bruun, son of Johan Nicolai Bruun & Kitty Lein, was born on 6 May 1902 and baptised on 11 June 1902 in Trondheim, Søndre Trondhjem, Norge.^[1]

Finn Bruun emigrated from Trondheim on 19 Oct 1923 aboard the Norske with an intended final destination of the United States.^[2] He arrived at New York, New York, United States on 2 November 1923 aboard the Stavangerfjord, having changed ships in Kristiania (now Oslo) with a stated intent to remain in the US two years.^[3]

On 2 October 1928, Finn Bruun declared his intent to become a United States Citizen in Los Angeles County, California.^[4]

Finn Bruun married Edith McCuistion on 1 March 1929 in Alaska Territory, United States.^[5] Alaska would not become a state for another 30 years. At the time of their marriage, Finn was a fur trader and Edith was a stenographer.^[5]

In 1931, Finn & Edith arrived in the port of Los Angeles with their 1 year old daughter who was born in Norway.^[6][7]

Finn died in 1968 and was buried in Trondheim, Sør-Trøndelag, Norway in July 1969.^[8]
