Biography

West Point graduate in 1877, his military service lasted forty-one years until retirement in 1918

the last campaign against the Sioux, which would probably be either the Black Hills War or the Wounded Knee Massacre, but since he was Adjutant at West Point in 1890 I believe they are talking about the Black Hills War, 1876. and the Pershing Punitive Expedition against Pancho Villa.(Mexican Revolution)

He served as Adjutant at West Point (1885-1890). During his career, Brown was He was appointed Brigadier General during his retirement.
