Henry was born on 12 September 1850[1] in Meriwether County, Georgia.[2] He was the son of James Brown and Mary Rucker.
He married Annie D. Long on 3 June 1885 in Davidson County, Tennessee.[3] He later married Ethel.[4]
He and J. C. Williams operated the Brown & Williams saloon in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.[5] He was also the proprietor of the Climax saloon.[6] He was President and General Manager of the Climax Company.[7] He owned a number of race horses.[8]
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.[9]
Henry died on 11 May 1905[10][11][12] at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, [13] after an operation.[14] His funeral was held at Christ Church in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.[15] He was buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee.[16][17][18][19][20]
