Biography

Martha Brown was the second daughter of Robert Brown. She came to New Zealand as a child on the sailing ship "Devonshire". [1]

Robert and Martha married in 1879 and had six children, three boys and three girls.

Their youngest son Robert Andrew and his older brothers John and James attended Auckland Grammar School as did his sister, Marion. [2] Lieutenant Robert Andrew Frater was later to die at Anzac Cove, Gallipoli April 1915.

She died 2 Jan 1931, Auckland New Zealand. [3]
