Alwyn was born in 1917. He passed away in 2005.
He was a WWII Army veteran, serving in the 10th Mountain Division in northern Italy, and a recipient of the Bronze Star. A retired bus driver, Mr. Brown worked for SCE&G's transportation department for 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Shandon Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Alwyn K. Brown, Jr. and Ginger Brown of Fayetteville, Ga., and Marion F. Brown, Sr. and Bonnie Brown of Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.; son, Marvin C. Brown of Prosperity; a sister, Arlene Brown of Troutman, N.C.; and grandchildren, Marion F. Brown, Jr., Kenneth A. Brown, and Kristin L. Gregory, and their families.
Mr. Brown was predeceased by brothers, Ernest and Harold Brown, and a sister, Sarah B. Squires.
