Research Notes

  • There's a conflict between Benjamin's birthdate and his sister, Ida's birthdate.
  • According to Ida's Death Certificate, she was born 10 April 1887.
  • According to her marriage certificate, she was 25 in Jan 1914, meaning she was born in 1887.
  • According to the 1900 Census, Ida was 15, meaning she was born in 1885
  • According to the 1910 Census, Ida was 20, meaning she was born in 1890.
  • According to the 1920 Census, Ida was 33, meaning she was born in 1887.
  • According to the 1930 Census, Ida was 42, meaning she was born in 1888.
  • According to the 1940 Census, Ida was 52, meaning she was born in 1888.
  • These conflicts may never be resolved, and I've left the birthdates as they are given in the records for each profile, but I suspect Ida was born in 1888.
  • An April birth followed by a July birth is impossible.
  • A July birth followed by an April birth is possible.
  • It's also possible that Ida was born in 1886.
