Mary was born on 20 May 1824 in Georgia. She passed away on 2 Dec 1900 and was buried in the Lunenburg Cemetery, Lunenburg, Arkansas.^[1]

1880 Census: Mary A Horton and her husband, James L Horton (45), were living Gordon County, Georgia. The record notes that Mary was 46 years old and born in Georgia. Also listed as members of the household were the couple's children Mary N (14), John J (12), John A (11), Dasia E (8), and Henry M (5) Horton.^[2]
