Greetings! My name is Sytze Brouwer, I was born on the 29th of March 2002 in the village of Hasselt, Overijssel as the youngest of four children. I am fortunate enough to have been born when all four of my grandparents and a great grandmother were alive. However when I was 3 1/2 I immigrated with my family to Canada, which meant that due to geography there was a disconnect. In 2008 when I visited the Netherlands I was astonished to find out that I had cousins and aunts and uncles. With a short timespan of 3 years I had forgotten 90% of my family. It was at this moment that I had an interest in family history and where I come from. After a second visit in 2012 I started with genealogy, it wasn’t until 2016 however when I really got “into” it. Since then I have moved back to the Netherlands to continue my education. Atleast that’s what I tell my friends😜 I check my E-mail everyday so if one has any questions feel free to send me a message. Also if I have not been active in a while this just means I am gathering sources. Below I will list my 8 Great Grandparents and link to their profiles.

We're so happy to see you are still active on WikiTree and caring about the Dutch profiles. The Dutch Roots Project is looking forward to give the project a new fresh start to put the Dutch in a more prominent place on the WikiTree map. The project is currently managing over 50,000 profiles and the total number of Dutch profiles on WikiTree exceeds 500,000! Within the project we are monitoring the quality of the Dutch profiles and assisting other WikiTreers in producing those profiles. We would love to pick up some other tasks but to do so we need more volunteers. This is why we check in with the members of the DRP to see if you would like to help us expand.
1) Would you like to do some volunteer work for the Dutch Roots Project? 2) If yes, what kind of work would you prefer to do within the Dutch Roots Project? E.g. translating, sourcing, or something else you want to work on?
We hope for a positive reaction but please don't feel obliged to volunteer. We just want to have a group of persons we can ask to help us with certain activities

The 6th Source-a-Thon will take place from the 1st of October till the 4th of October. This Thon is all about adding accurate sources to unsourced profiles and improving the accuracy of WikiTree. For a great start of the spring this year we will have a Spring Clean-a-Thon again. The fun starts Friday, April 23, at 8 AM (EDT) until Monday, April 26, at 8 AM (EDT) make sure to register for this event (hurry ;) (and respond with an ANSWER not a comment or reply) and of course also mention in the answer you are joining the Flying Dutchmen- Vliegende Hollanders team !
