Benjamin Brookes was born in Leicestershire, England.

Benjamin Brookes was born about 1678 and baptised on 5th January 1679 in Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. He was the son of John Brookes. ^[1][2][3]

Benjamin Brookes and Ann Davies were married on 22 Jul 1709 at All Saints Church, Loughborough, Leicestershire, England. (I have examined an image of the original entry and in my opinion, the groom's surname is Brookes but there is fading on the last two letters). ^[4]

Benjamin Brookes Snr was the father of daughters, Ann, born 1710 and Elizabeth, born 1713 as well as twin sons, Benjamin and Joseph Brookes, baptised on 31 May 1715 at All Saints Church, Loughborough, Leicestershire and another son, George, baptised on 11 Jan 1717 in the same place. ^[5][6]

Benjamin Brookes was buried at All Saints Churchyard, Loughborough. His headstone reads: "Here lieth the body of Benj. Brookes of The Forest Lane, Loughborough who departed this life the 29th March 1759, age 81 years". It is a double headstone, with John Brookes on the other half. Along the top, it says "In hopes of a joyful resurrection". ^[7][8]
