Biography
Basil was born in 1832 to Basil Brooke and Rachel Morris in Columbiana County, Ohio. He was born 10 months after his father passed away.
During the Civil War, Basil served in Company L of the 6th Ohio Volunteer Calvary from 31 Oct 1861 to 31 Mar 1864.
Basil passed away in 1914.

Salem - Basil Brooks, aged 82 years, died Sunday night at his home on the Goshen Road. He served in the 6th Ohio Calvary in the Civil war. His wife and two daughters survive him. Funeral services Wednesday and burial was made in the Bunker Hill church cemetery.
