Biography
William was born ion 26 June 1895 and baptised on 21 July 1895 in Edinburgh. He was the son of William Brodie and Amelia Skinner. [1]
William is in the Scotland Census, 1901, age 5, living in Edinburgh in the household of William Brodie, his mother Amelia, and 2 siblings, Christina and Mary [2]
He emigrated to Maryland, United States of America where for reasons which are unclear, he changed his surname to Campbell. He married Corrine Canales in Manhattan, New York, on 27 September 1922 [3]
A life history in Family Search: William was originally an Edwardian actor with the Graham Moffat Theatrical Company. His stage name was Clyne Campbell. He arrived in Ellis Island in 1920, on a transit visa, intending to travel to Ottawa with his acting Troup. He appeared briefly in a short lived Broadway play Don't Tell which closed after 6 performances.
