Marcelle Gloria Brix was born on 4th April 1923 in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. She was the daughter of William Brix and Minnie Savage. [1]
On 27th April 1942 in Bundaberg, Marcelle enlisted in the Australian Women's Army Service (AWAS) for service during the Second World War. She listed her mother as next-of-kin. When she was discharged at war's end, on 14th June 1945, she was posted to the 7th AWAS Barracks. [2]
