Mary Briggs was born about 1712 based on her age at death.[1]
Mary Briggs of Pembroke and Benjamin Turner Jr. of Scituate married after intentions were published at Scituate on 02 August 1735.[2]
Benjamin died on 13 February 1770 age 66 (in 67th year) and was buried in the Briggs Burying Ground in Pembroke.[3]
Benjamin named his wife Mary in his will, dated 16 August 1757 and proved 15 April 1771, giving her "so much of my real estate as may be sufficient to bring up my children that are under age;" two unnamed children of his daughter Ann deceased; "to my ten children now living" the whole of his estate after their mother's death; wife Mary to be sole executrix. Witnesses Caleb Turner Jr., David Stockbridge, Ruth Turner. When the will was proved David Stockbridge was the "only surviving witness."[4] His inventory, taken 7 May 1771, calls him Benjamin Turner late of Pembroke, gentleman. His estate totaled £777, and included his farm, pasture and other lands, a silver wathc and silver spoons and china ware and a silver headed sword. The inventory was taken by Thomas Turner, John Turner and Seth Briggs, and was sworn to by Mary Turner, executrix, on 6 January 1772.[5]
Mary, widow of Capt. Benjamin Turner, died on 09 July 1802, age 90.[1]
