Biography
Lizzie was born in 1849. Daughter of Chester Clinton Briggs and Emeline Maria Peck.
Brother George Smith Briggs was born in Rockford, Illinois in 1859.
On 26 July 1860 Vermont born parents Chester C Briggs (42), wife Emeline M Briggs (40) with children Lizzie Briggs (12), Charles E Briggs (4), George Briggs (1) with Georgana Prutt (26), Ellen Davis (19), John Clark (14), Irish born Mary Heggins (80) lived in Rockford, Illinois. [1]
In 1869 Lizzie M Briggs attended the Rockford Female Seminary, Department of Drawing and Printing. [2]
Duncan Henry Ferguson married Lizzie Briggs on 9 September 1869 in Winnebago, Illinois. [3]
They had three daughters:
- Agnes Emma Ferguson Baker (1870–1913)
- Ida May Ferguson Phelps (1874–1910)
- Vera Ferguson (1880–1963)
On 12 June 1880 Scottish born Duncan H. Ferguson (41) Real Estate Agent, Massachusetts born wife Lizzie M. Ferguson (31) with Illinois born daughters Emma A. Ferguson (10), Ida M. Ferguson (6) and German born servant Julia Schad (24) lived in North Church Street, Rockford, Winnebago, Illinois. [4]
