Biography

Jemima Brewer was born about April 8, 1853 in York, New Brunswick, the eldest and a daughter of Benjamin Brewer (1828–1910) and Jane Hannah Pugh (1832–1881).

In the 1861 census Jemima (age 8) was living with her father Benjamin Brewer (age 33, farmer), mother Jane (age 29), and siblings: Hannah (6), Richard (4), Samuel Dow (3), and Ada (1), in Douglas, York, New Brunswick, Canada.[1]

In 1871, Jemima (18) was living with her family in Douglas, York, New Brunswick, Canada. [2]

Jemima married James W Bubar on 5 September 1872 in York, New Brunswick, Canada.[3] Their children were:

In 1881, Jemima Bubar (27), was living with her husband J. William Bubar (age 34, labourer, German, born N.B.), children: Ernest (8), Lois (6), Florence (4), Ward (3), and Hattie Brewer (age 18), in Saint Marys, York, New Brunswick, Canada. Their faith was F. Baptist.[4]

In 1901, Jemima Bubar (age 47), was a wife, in the household of J. William Bubar (54, Saw Mill Labourer) with six children in York, New Brunswick, Canada. They were of Methodist faith.[6]

In 1911, Jemima Bubar, was a wife, in the household of William Bubar in York, New Brunswick, Canada. Children at home were: Gertrude (27), Ernest (37), Alida (25), and Doris (2). They were of Methodist faith. [7]

Jemima's husband James William Bubar (age 78), died in 1928 in Marysville, New Brunswick.

In the 1931 census Jemina Bubar (age 77, widowed, homemaker), Home Maker, was the head of household living with two unmarried children: Ernest (age 56, labourer/odd jobs) and Pearl Bubar (age 37, Weaver/cotton mill), and two grandchildren: Doris Bubar (21, homemaker), Ardith Bubar (17, student), in the Town of Marysville, York-Sunbury, New Brunswick, Canada. They were of Baptist faith.[8]

Jemima died on March 31, 1933 in Marysville, York, Canada, aged about 79.[9]
