Biography

Surrounded by his family, Larry E. Brewer of Zealand, NB passed away on June 25, 2023. Larry was born on November 2, 1939 at Zealand Station, NB, the son of the late Eugene and Catheline (Lena) Brewer (nee Morehouse).

Larry was a truck driver by trade. He obtained his truck license in 1958. He was proud to be part of the construction on the Mactaquac Dam in the sixties. He worked for many years for various construction companies. Driving truck was a passion of his. He had an impressive work ethic, worked long days, and rarely missed a day’s work. In the early 80’s he started driving school bus to Nackawic High. Over the years he provided transportation for many Burtts Corner students. Those students still reminisce about their trips with Larry. In the mid nineties he began transporting students to KVMS where he retired from the district with 21 years under his foot.

Larry lived and loved life. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed his time at his camp on the Grand John where he hunted, fished, and celebrated living. He loved trips on his ATV in the warmer months and his snowmobile in the winter. Larry also spent many hours at his “building” fixing any vehicle that required repair all the while entertaining his friends. He loved our family gatherings and so did we. Larry always had a story to tell and most often laughter ensued. There was never a dull moment when he was around.

Although Larry officially retired at age 63, he remained active. He returned to doing what he loved and on Friday, June 23rd, stepped down out of the dump truck for the last time.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Marilyn (Brawn) Brewer; a brother Myles Brewer and a granddaughter Mikaela Brewer.
