Joseph was a Friend (Quaker)

Joseph Bevan Braithwaite the son of Isaac Braithwaite and Anna Lloyd. He and his twin sister Caroline were born at Kendal, Westmorland on 21 June 1818^[1][2]

Joseph Bevan Braithwaite, of Lincoln's Inn, barrister-at-law; and Martha Gillett, daughter of Joseph Ashby Gillett, of Banbury, banker; were married at the Friends' Meeting House at Banbury on 27 August 1851. ^{[3] [4]}

1861 census: Joseph B. Braithwaite was living at 65 Mornington Road in London with his wife Ma[r]tha and their children. His age was given as 47, implying a birth date in 1813 or 1814. His birthplace was given as Aby Kendale, Westmorland. He was a barrister. ^[5]

1871 census: Joseph was living at 312 Camden Road in north London with his wife and their children. His age was given as 52, implying a birth date in 1818 or 1819. His birthplace was given as Kendal, Westmorland. He was a barrister-at-law. ^[6]

His wife Martha died in 1895.
