Research Notes

It is clear that this "James S Brady" was recognized in the Indiana County community as a "BRADY". YET to be determined is the correct BRADY LINE with which he is identified as "family".

As to the PEARCE / PIERCE DNA father: the endogamous Indiana County families may make the determination of EXACT Pearce /Pierce father very challenging.

As with all DNA-"NPE's" (not parent expected), working toward truth will be challenging.

We will get there.

NOTE: There is a DNA WORKING group working on the project as to parents of James S Brady. Please private message me if you are interested in working on this in a meaningful way. EBrady 1/10/21

Hi there, my name is Stella. James S Brady would be my GGG-grandfather. I have been casually researching my ancestry for many years, but I'm still very much a novice. Recently I decided to research the Surname Brady (my Grandmother's maiden name) and came across your information. I am surprised to hear that we might not be Bradys after all?!? This thread has me very intrigued. I would love to know more! I do have to apologize, however, as I'm not super savvy when it comes to genealogical research. I am however willing to help in any way I can. Thank you! - Stella

Recent yDNA testing of 2 male descendants of this James S Brady (one from son William's line and one from son Daniel's line) have resulted in a surprise finding as to the biological father of James S Brady. The biological father is one of the PEARCE / PIERCE men of likely Indiana County, Pennsylvania of the time. WHICH Pearce / Pierce man exactly is still to be determined -- there are MANY from which to choose. I am assisting a group of descendants in this endeavor to unravel the mystery of James S Brady -- who his biological parents were AND how/why he came to be named "Brady". (NOTE: I do have express permission from yDNA tester to divulge the yDNA general results here as to PEARCE here.)

If you are a known descendant of this James S Brady + Nancy Ross -- of ANY child -- and are doing strong research work and/or autosomal DNA testing and matching, we would like to be in contact with you.

Please contact me so we may work with you on this mystery.

Messaging here is fine. Email is even better:

Thank you very much!
