Biography
Mary (Brady) Lynch was born in Ireland.
Mary Brady, daughter of John Brady and Mary Reardon, was born in Raheen, County Cork, and baptized on 1 February 1861 in the Roman Catholic parish of Murragh & Templemartin, Cork & Ross (RC) diocese, County Cork Ireland. Her/His sponsors were Jeremiah Carthy and Joanna Halihane.[1]
Mary arrived in 1894 after the passing of her parents, after having been at the bedside of both father John in 1892 and Mary at the end of 1893. She was accompanied by her younger brother Dan.[2]
Mary (age 28 in record) arrived on the ship Scythia on 30 April 1894 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States having departed from Liverpool, England and Queenstown, Ireland. after the passing of her parents, Mary had been present at the bedside of both father John in 1892 and Mary at the end of 1893 and was the informant in both of their death registries. She was accompanied by her younger brother Dan.[3]
In the 1900 census, Mary (age 32) was enumerated in Somerville, Middlesex, Massachusetts, United States. She was the single servant of W. Willey.[4]
Marriage
Mary married John Lynch (age 41) on 4 August 1907 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States. The ceremony took place at St. Francis de Sales Roman Catholic Church in Charlestown, Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, and the witnesses were John Ford and Helen McCarthy. 47 Walnut is given as the address, probably of the happy couple.[5][6][7][8]
It appears that the couple did not have any children, and this is not surprising given that they married in middle age.
