Biography

Lewis Lemuel Bradley or Lemuel Lewis Bradley was born on May 26, 1890, in Nemaha, Nebraska,^[1][2] to Benton Bradley and Bessie Whitten.

At the 1900 census, Lemuel was ten years old and living in Aspinwall Precinct, Nemaha County, Nebraska, with his mother and stepfather Joshua Matney. He was incorrectly recorded with his stepfather's surname.^[3]

At the 1910 census, Lemuel was staying in a hotel run by William McMichael in Maywood, Nebraska. He was a barber.^[4]

Lemuel married Pearl Seid in Nemaha County in 1910.^[5][6]

At the 1920 census, Lemuel and Pearl were living in Broken Bow, Nebraska.^[7]

He then married Caroline (surname unknown) in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on August 25, 1925.^[8]

At the 1930 census, Lewis and Caroline were living in Pocatello, Idaho, with their children Dorothy and Lewis and Caroline's son Cecil.^[9]

At the 1940 census, Lewis and Caroline were living in Pueblo County, Colorado, with their children Lewis and Mary and Caroline's son Cecil.^[10]

At the 1950 census, Lewis and Caroline were living in De Beque, Colorado, with their daughter Mary.^[11]

Lewis was elected mayor of De Beque in 1952^[12] and kept the position until 1964.^[8]

Lewis died on December 12, 1966, at Porter's Hospital in Denver.^[8] He was buried in the Fowler Cemetery in Fowler.^[13]
