The DAR Genealogical Research Databases as well as an earlier Find A Grave contributor (Paul RouLaine) provides that Philemon Bradford passed away in Granville County, North Carolina.
However the Memorial now shows a Greenville, South Carolina place of death, along with a corroborating will transcript proved in Greenville, SC and naming Philemon's wife Susanna and children. There is also a record of Philemon purchasing property in South Carolina in 1799. His daughter, Susan Bradford Grisham's tombstone reads that she was the youngest daughter of Philemon Bradford and was born in Greenville Dist., S.C.

Nine enslaved people were left in Philemon's will to his wife Susanna Clopton Bradford during her life or widowhood and then to be divided among all his children.
