Biography

George Samuel Boyd is a part of US Black heritage.

George Samuel Boyd was born on October 18, 1879 in Laytonsville, Montgomery, Maryland, United States.^[1] Son of Wesley and Malinda Boyd, former slaves.

In the 1880 census George (age 8 months) was the son of Wesley Boyd in Cracklin, Montgomery, Maryland, United States.^[2]

George was in a military record in Ithaca, New York, United States.^[3]

He married Ollie Virginia Boyd.

He worked as a custodian for the Sigma Phi Kappa fraternity at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.^[4]

George died on September 26, 1956 in Montgomery, aged 76. He was buried in Brooke Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Laytonsville.^[1]
