David Boyd was born about 1839[1]-1841[2] in Ohio[1][2]. He was the child[1] of Rosann and Alfred Boyd, the husband[3][2] of Dolly Jane Artis, and the brother-in-law of Joseph Artis of the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.
