Grover Bill Bowers was a professional baseball player. He played for the Chicago White Sox in Major League Baseball as an outfielder.

Grover Bill Bowers was born on March 25, 1922 in Parkin, Cross County, Arkansas. His father was Grover Divers Bowers, and his mother Willie Leona (Halliburton) Bowers.[1] In 1930, he lived on Ohio Mill District in Parkin.[2] In 1940, he worked as a common laborer at a Stave Mill (Stave mills produce the narrow strips of wood that compose the sides of barrels).[3]

He married Helen Mae Dexter on August 24, 1940 in Cross County, Arkansas.[4][5] He served in the Army from June 11, 1944 to January 21, 1946 during World War II.[6]

In 1949, he started playing Major League Baseball (MLB) as an outfielder for the Chicago White Sox.[7][8]

He died on September 17, 1996 in Wynne, Cross County, Arkansas.[9] He was buried at Cogbill Cemetery in the same city.[10]
