Mary Bowden was born on 8th November 1818 at Stow Bedon, Norfolk, England. She was the daughter of Edward Bowden and Diana Ayres.[1] Her father was convicted of stealing and tansported to Van Dieman's Land (Tasmania) in 1827.
Her mother brought their five children out in 1830 to be re-united. They settled at Bothwell, Tasmania.
She married Robert Blake on 17th November 1835 at Van Dieman's Land. They had twelve children.
She passed away on 26th July 1861 at Bothwell, Tasmania.
