Biography

Prudent was born about 1734. He was the son of Antoine Boudrot and Cécile Brassaud.

He was listed, at age 18, in the 1752 census at Grande-Anse, Isle Saint-Jean with his parents and siblings. [1]

In late 1758 the Acadians of Ile Saint Jean were deported to France.[2] The family arrived at St. Malo, France on 9 March 1759 aboard the ship Supply; 24 people were lost at sea during the transit.[3] Their family group consisted of

BOUDEROT Antoine, of Ile St-Jean,, 66 yrs
BRASSEAU Cécile, 54 yr, his wife
BOUDEROT Prudent, 17 yrs, their son
BOUDEROT Ignace, 8 yrs., Antoine's nephew.

By the year 1762, they were in Saint-Servan and were counted as follows among those Acadians for Isle Royale and Isle St. Jean: Antoine Bouderot-67; his wife, Cecile Brasseau-57; Prudent Bouderot-20, their son; and Ignace Bouderot-11, the nephew of Antoine.[4][5]

On 18 October 1763, in St-Servan, France, he married Marie Comeau, daughter of Étienne Comeau and Marie Josèphe Landry.[6]

Marie and Prudent were listed on a census in Saint-Malo in 1772, with their children Jean-Baptiste and Marguerite. [7][8]

Prudent passed away on 27 February 1782 and was buried the next day in St-Servan, France.[6]

Are there any objections to removing Marie-Josèphe as Prudent's wife, and replacing her with her sister Marie instead? Paul Delaney's book "La Liste de Winslow" says: Marie, born ca 1739, deported to Virginia with her parents in 1755, and then to England. Went to France in 1763 aboard La Dorothée. Married in Saint-Servan in 1763. On 1772 census Saint-Malo. Died in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon, 1784. Her sister Marie-Josèphe, born in 1730, died around 1755-1756.

Marie's age on the 1772 census (33) corresponds to a birth in 1739.
