Lyman Wesley Bostock, Sr. was an American baseball player who played first base for several Negro league teams from 1938 to 1954.[1]

Lyman Wesley Bostock was born in 1918 to John Bostock and Lily Francis Greenwood. In the 1920 census Wesly (age 2) was the grandson of Robert Greenwood in Birmingham, Jefferson, Alabama.[2]

In the 1930 census Lyman (age 11) was the son of John Bostock at 655 Fifteenth Place S.W., Birmingham, Jefferson, Alabama, United States.[3]

Lyman served in the US Army during World War II. He enlisted on 8 April 1942 in Fort McClellan, Alabama. Their service number was 34167300.[4]

Lyman (age 31), son of John Haywood Bostock & Lily T Greenwood, married Annie Pearl Crawford on 13 April 1949 in Jefferson, Alabama, United States.[5]

His son, Lyman Bostock Jr., played for the Minnesota Twins and California Angels from 1975 until 1978. He was tragically killed in his hometown of Gary, Indiana on 24 September 1978.[6]

Lyman passed away in 2005.[7]
